I was watching the new My Craft Channel. http://www.mycraftchannel.com/
Kris and Kim have a great show on that channel. The first episode for this season showed them making a cutest pin cushion. It was a dress form to hold your decorative pins. I just loved it. I have not sewn anything also two years. I was excited to have my new sewing area in my craft room. So I threaded up the sewing machine and got started. Even as rusty as I am this project didn't take a hour. I think the next one I will make in about 30 minutes.
Here is the link to get their tutorial and the pattern. I hope you enjoy it as much I did.

I used a .29 candle stick from the thrift store. The candle stick is ceramic and 4 inch tall. The finished Pin Cushion is about 14 inches tall. I think the next one I make I will use more stuffing. I painted the christmas ornament pink. I then painted it with gloss accent. With the 1.49 fat quarter I bought at Joanns. The entire project cost less than $3. Now that's an economical Christmas present.
Mine will sit on my table and hold not only my pins but pins that were gifted to me. What a great way to display the beautiful decorative pins awaiting for your next project.
Happy Crafting
Terri
