Barbie Bed is finally finished

Ok here is a pic of the Barbie bed I made over for my granddaughter for Christmas. I decided to paint it out white. It took several coats to cover the multi-colored paint job it had when I found it at the second hand shop. I then decided to cover the "mattress" with Con-Tact paper. I found some great white with pink Pooka-dot contact paper at Big Lots. Once that was covered I hot glued the gathered pink lace to the sides like a bed ruffle. I cut out the Barbie sign on heavy card stock using my Gypsy and glued it to the "head board". It was a lot of fun to revamp. I know she will enjoy placing her Barbie's to sleep on it each night. Her Mom plans to hang it in her room. We decided not to make pillows or covers. Mom had night mares just thinking about having to keep up with all that. This shall do just fine.
Before Pic cost $7.00

In Progress, several coats of paint
paint cost $3.00

I took wood putty and covered up the engraving
then covered the Head Board with contact paper
Coat of wood putty $3.00

Finished!!
Cost of Con-tac paper $2.00

Trash to Treasure  cost: $15.00
Labor of Love   cost :  Hugs and Kisses

I love it~Terri

Merry Merry Christmas!

Hello Everyone
Merry Merry Christmas!!!

I'm hoping everyone has a great Holiday!. Here is a pic of my small tree. I love the red and white. With work and family obligations I will be very busy the next few weeks. I will be back after the holidays to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!!! May God bless you all.

Here is a pic of the Barbie Bed I am revamping for my granddaughter. It was once used for someone's Beanie Babies. Kimberlee will be using it for all her Barbie's. I will post a pic after Christmas of her New Barbie Bed to let you see how it turned out. I plan to paint the side's white. The bed part will be Barbie pink. I will make small covers and pillows for each tier. I want to use gathered lace around each bed frame like a bed ruffle. We will be what all I get done. It may only get painted. Time is moving faster than I am!!
Happy Holidays!!!

Tear drop Christmas wreath

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. We have all survived Thanksgiving. I am ready to decorate for Christmas. I plan to put up a white tree. I will post some pics when I'm done. I have to drag everything out of the shed. Not looking forward to that but its part of the process. I did make the wreath for the  front door. I got the teardrop wreath at Joann's black Friday sale. It was 60% off. Wonderful!!!!!! I got the rest of the supplies at the dollar store. A couple bushes of poinsettia's, some berry's, some ribbon, some bells and a cute red bird. I stopped out at the lake after church today and gathered the pine cones. Usually my granddaughter and I would do this. She isn't here this year( she moved out of state). I miss little things like that with her. Here are some pics of the very simple tear drop wreath I made today.

Happy Thanksgiving

Wow, I am a messy card maker. Excuse the mess please! I do finally clean it up. When im all done.
 Hello Everyone
Happy Thanksgiving. I'm hoping everyone had a great day. Mine was wonderful. Family Food and Fun. Not all 3 of my kiddos were here. My one son Jason was in Austin. He called and we had a good chat. My daughter and her family were in Louisiana. They called and were having a great time. They were enjoying some good Cajun food. The Cowboys played the New Orleans Saints. We had several calls back and forth. The ribbing was all in good fun.
Im so Thankful for my loving family. My mother, my brother and my son James were here for the day. We had a great day. I thank the Lord we are all safe and home.

I have been very busy. I have not had time to blog much but I have been making some cards. I made a about 30 plus for my church. They will sale them at the bookstore. I didn't get any pics of them. I was running late Sunday. I grabbed them and dropped them off at church before I realized I had not taken any pics. They were mostly Christmas cards. Most were dry embossed. I have also been busy making some birthday cards. Here is a pic of the two I made last week. The cherry card was made with my cricut. The other card is a simply tag card. It is my favorite card to make. Its like a black dress. You can either dress this card up or dress it down. Either way it always looks great. if you have any questions about either card left me a comment and I will get back to you. Enjoy your black Friday shopping!!

Im working on a baby card. I saw a card like this in a blog and thought hmm this would be a good card to use my rolled felt flower on. When its complete I will take another pic.
Take care and have a great weekend everyone!!

New card with random found stamps

All stamps do not have to come in a set. I wish I could afford to buy all the wonderful stamp sets that are available today. I cant do it so I pick up stamps from all kind of places. Some stamps are a great  deal and I use them all the time. I have several I got from Michaels $1 bin that are my go to stamps for almost every card. Others dont stamp well or I find I dont have a need for them. Sometimes though I get lucky. Like I did this week.

This is a card I made using 6 different stamps. I got 5 of them from the Michael's $1 bin. The stamp I used to make the divides I got from Big Lots. The divide stamp (a simple straight line, that I made into the grid) came with 6 other stamps and I got them all for $1.00. I bought all they had, there was 5 different sets. I went to another Big Lots but they didn't have any. So I was lucky to find the ones I did find. This is simple card. It is an example of what you can do with the small stamps you pick up along the way that do not have any collation. The same day I found these stamps, I got a set of stamps from Goodwill. They had never been used and for .50 I got 5 wonderful clear stamps. I plan to make some cards from the stamps I got this week. I will challenge myself to make something from all the new stamps I got. This should be fun. So check back and see what I come up with. Have a great week!

Make a card today for someone you Love

I scraplifted this off a Sizzix ad in one of my scrap mags. They did a whole 12x12 page
I just made it smaller to fit on a 6 1/2 x5 card. Im planning on making  a page too.

The card stock I bought at Tuesday Morning this week was already embossed.
There are 25 pages of very heavy card stock in each package. I got about 6 colors. They were $1.99
a package.
Today I had a wonderful suprise. I talked to an old freind I haven't talk to in 5 or 6 months. It was great to hear his voice and feel his sprit. So today while I was feeling all happy, I made a happy love card for my grand daughter. She also called me today and told me all about her new house. She loves her new teacher and  is having a blast playing with all her cousins. Im happy for her but I miss our play time too.
Happy card making everyone. Make a card today for someone you love.

Princess dress layout

Hello

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. Mine was very good. Despite the fact that my grand daughter has moved out of state. I miss her so much. I did a scrapbook page of her. She was dressed in her Princess dress. She loves to pose. She's so good at it. I scraplifted this layout from a scrabooking mag. Changed the colors to match her dress. I love the way it turned out.

I'm working on my 12 cards for the card swap I'm doing. I will post them as soon as I'm done. Then its on to working on my daughters Christmas present. I'm doing her a recipe album. We have changed the direction of this album 3 times. I think we have finally decided on layout. I will post some picture when I get a few pages done.
Have a great week!!

Dad and Me page

Good Morning Everyone

Today I was working on a lay out page for my grand daughter Kimmy. I have tons of pictures of her and her dad. She is a daddy's girl. I have wanted to make a paper bag album of these pics. Time has not permitted that. I saw these pics this morning laying on top of my photo box.
I made the circle using the Accent Essential cart. There are a lot of great things on this cart for scrap booking. Not so much for cards. The sizes lend themselves (they just look better) to a bigger page than a card.

Tomorrow my grand daughter moves out of state. I will miss her terribly. Lucky for me, I have a job interview tomorrow with Joann's. They are looking for someone to handle their crops a few times a month. I'm their gal!!!! I will let you know. I'm not the only person they are interviewing. So we will see.

Hello Saturday

Hello Saturday!! I'm so glad your here. I mean Saturday and you of course. Now that I'm retired my days run into each other without any importance. Today I have my cousin coming for a visit. She does have a job and is spending her weekend off with me. So she doesn't have a lot of free time so its nice to have her spend some of it with me. I'm excited it have her here. We are planning on lunch and little does she know a trip to the craft store  LOL She does not share my craziness for crafting.

I have finished the small matchbook album I was making of my granddaughter. I just choose some small pics that showed her wonderful personality. These pics were taken from 2 years old to 4 years old. I like the smallness of this type of album. It would be a quick sweet gift for a new mom or to celebrate any one event.

Happy Friday

Good Morning.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have been working on a couple of things but not finishing much. Can you relate? lol. Halloween is coming up and my granddaughter is packing. Her and her family will be moving out of state the first of the month. I will be sad to see them go. Of course we have made the plans of visiting back and forth. Pretending that will be enough and I will not be consumed with loneness for my princess. We will see how it goes. Ok on to cards/crafts before I tear up.
Im working on two mini books. One is a tissue roll book. Here are a few of the pages I have completed.

This is the cover page
Here is a pic of the match book mini. I havent started decorating the inside yet.
The match book is 5x5

I added vellum between each page. Its hard to see in these pics
but it adds a softness I like
Thanks again for stopping by. I have a fall card completed I will post tomorrrow. I also have some pics of my E that Ive added even more bling to.
Until tomorow, Take care

My attempt at the Masking Technique

I was working on using some masking techniques. This is my first time to try it. I cut the two images with my E using clear vinyl . I then inked around the image with brown ink. Once I took off the vinyl I had the negative image. I think I will play around some more with masking. Masking could be a lot of fun and very different for me. I used the Child Year cart. This cart is perfect for masking. All the images on this cart are silhouettes which are perfect for this technique. I used pattern paper for the card with the fairy. Once the mask was removed I like the pattern paper showing. I used a small star burst stamp also before I removed the mask. I think I need to do some more experimenting before I get it perfect, but I do like it so far. I do not like the raffla on the  fairy card and the cat card isnt even finished yet. Its a good start. back to my work table. Have a great day everyone!! Thanks for stoping by.

Baby Wipe Holder

Had to show you the baby wipe box we deco'd out!! It was great fun. I found a pad of clear scrapbooking themed stickers. Once I cleaned off the label from the box, I had a clean slate to add the stickers. Now I cant lose it on my oh so mess work table.
