Dress Form made from Detergent Bottle

I saw ArteDar make her bottle dress form on Ustream. This is my version.

I covered her with flower fabric and tons of roses

I used a glass knob for the top, added fiber's and a metal button.

I used some old lace I had. The buttlerfly was also from my stash
Today I worked on my dress form. This dress form was made from a detergent bottle. I used a dawn bottle and the bottom of a candle holder. I cut the top off the candle holder , leaving the legs for my stand. I cut the bottom off the detergent bottle. Stuffed the inside of the bottle with fiberfill. I hot glued the candle stand inside. I cut strips of fabric and wrapped it around the bottle with hot glue. I covered the form with roses and fiber. Mine is very different than Artedars. Check hers out.
Here is the link to see how to make your own. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/12488286
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've finished up some cards. I will post them in the next few days.

Captured Fairy in a Jar

Today I watched a Ustream video that ArteDar did of a Captured Fairy. It was the cutest thing. I made one this morning and I love it!!!!!! I want to make at least 5 others. I have a ton of ideas. Different Fairies, different jars, different laces. The ideas are endless. I made a tag for her jar after I took the pictures to show you guys. I used the same message as ArteDar. It says :
   Specimen 6057
  Found in North Field.
     Had to use net.

Here are her links if you want to watch her Ustream video. Its about an hour long but worth ever second. She is a sweet talented lady. You can also find her on Youtube. http://www.ustream.tv/user/ArteDar

I got my fairy from a book of full color cut outs. You could also do a stamp colored with Copics or a digi stamp. Everything I used in this project I had in my craft room. You got to love that. Finally something beside a card  !!

I used an old Starbucks cold coffee bottle as my jar. The jar is about 6 inches tall. It was the perfect size for my small fairy. I got my little girl turned fairy from a book called Full Color Floral Vignettes By Dover.

I used twigs from my back yard. I used flowers I made from my Cricut on the inside of the bottle. Her wings were a small metal butterfly. I cut the bottom wings off and just used the top part for her wings. You could use a small butterfly from a Cricut cart for her wings.
I decoupaged old text and music sheets to the back. Then I covered that with old lace and a  feather.

I used the lid that came with the bottle. I topped it with an old curtain rod end. I painted the lid and top with gold paint and touched it up with some black. It gave it some age. I hot glued the lid and top together.

Im home from vacation!!

This birthday card for an old freind was made with the Fresh Picked cart. I cut the beard at 4.5 real size. I layered it on oval card stock to make the face. I cut the brows off the beard and used google eyes. There wasnt a blackout so I put it on black paper and cut out around it. The lips were a set of valentine stamps I got at Tuesday Morning last year. I made it a tri-fold card to hide the head inside the card.

.

I'm home. I have been gone for a few days.  I went to Galveston Texas for a quick vacation. I had a wonderful time. The weather was fantastic. But I'm glad to be home. I have been very busy with Easter cards and I've been working on a few mini albums that will be donated to my church. I meant to get some pics of the cards and the mini book but somehow got rushed and didn't get any. I did take a pic of a birthday card I made for a ol' dear friend. Its a simple silly card but never the less its a cute card. I also found a wooden tray, so I can get started on my tag display. I found the perfect one at the Goodwill for a few bucks. I cant wait to get started on the tags. I'm still not sure what my theme will be. I plan to display the tray in my craft room. So maybe it will be craft related theme. I saw a guy do some tags with the 6 flags of Texas theme. That's a good idea too.

Easter Chickens----Oh so stinkin cute

I just had to do another post tonight. I stopped by Big Lots this evening and found the cutest thing. They only had one package of the Basic Grey Chicken Favor Boxes. I grabbed it and came home and put them together. Did anyone else get some of these?

I put them together and made signs for them to hold. They are soooooo cute. You get 6 chickens and tons of tags and flowers that match. They were only a $1.00. I plan to fill them with jelly beans and sell them at the book store at our church. I wish they had a few more packages. I had no idea Basic Grey even made kits. I dont have a scrap book store close to me. So if Michael's, Joann's or HL doesn't carry it, I never get to see it. I used the $1 Easter stamps I got at Joanns.

I just love these little guys.

Thanks for stopping by my Blog.

Cards Cards and Cards

This is one of my favorite stamps. He is a big beautiful Rooster. I stamped him in a distressed brown ink over a pale distressed pattern paper. The Good Morning stamp was a $1 buy at Michaels. I made the small felt rose. I used a sizzix strip die for the bottom.
Cards, cards and more cards. What can I say.. I love to make them. These days it seems all I have been doing are cards. I have done a few scrapbook pages. Two to be exact, the rest have all been cards. I have so many pics waiting my attention. So next week after I get all the Easter and Mother Day cards done..I'm working on scrapbook layouts!!!

Here a few cards I have been working on for our bookstore at church. Just a variety of cards. The multi cut card is a mock up of the card I'm doing for our card swap on March 31st. I will be doing them in a different color scheme. I will be using the same sentiments, I think lol. I'm working on my second set for the swap. When I get them all done I will post the pictures.

I made the lollypop flowers from recycled suit lining. I added pearls and a ribbon from my stash. I used patteren paper.
Easy card! I used pattern paper I love and  then added buttons to the flowers and  a thanks stamp.
$1.00 stamp from Joanns. Ribbon ( yes I know its off, so I changed it. Just didnt retake pic) and buttons from my stash. MS punch
This is a mock up of the  6 cards I will be doing for our  next card swap.
I discovered I didnt have enough of the same paper to do six cards. So Ive changed paper designs but I will use the same senitments. All tags were cut at 2 inches from Twinkle Toes cart.

Perfect Tag Display!!

Today while blog hopping. I discovered a wonderful way to display your tags. I was in a tag challenge not long ago where many of us commented that we didn't know what to do with the tags once me made them. A lady named Eline Pellinkhop was featured on a blog in The Netherlands about a great book she wrote. There they showed  pictures of her house along with a pic of her tag display. It was gorgeous. I think I will try and make one for myself. It was a simple display but worked perfect for tags.  Notice the fabric birds (in this pic) and the real branches. Just beauitful!!! Her book is only available in Dutch. I was able to translate her blog to English however.
The blog Bloesem featured her house. She is a wonderful artist. She also did a beautiful mural of a cross stitched rose on her bedroom wall. But what got my attention was her display of her tags.

Happy Wednesday Everyone

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I have my granddaughter here with me this week for her spring break. We have been extremely busy. I think I over commented myself this past week.I had way to much that needed to get done.  I did get all my cards done for the card swap over at Scraplifters, just in time. I also got my die cuts out in the mail for the face book group. I was very unhappy with my die cuts. I apologize to everyone who is getting a die cut from me. I ran out of time and of course that's when my Cricut decides it doesn't want to cut anything less than 3 inches. I cut and then recut until there was no time left. I sent them out the door even tho I didnt like the quality. The antennas on my butterflies kept breaking off. I finally hand cut new ones , glued them on and called it a day! Next time I will not wait until the last minute to get my projects done.
Here is a pic of the butterflies I finally got finished. Also the cards I did for the monthly card swap.
I also have been very busy getting my inventory pic's up at the Button Stash , my online store (http://www.artfire.com/users/buttonstash). That turned out to be a lot more work there than I thought it would be. Isnt that the way it always is?  lol

Have a wonderful week. I plan to spend the rest of the week with my granddaughter. She goes back home Saturday!! Thank you for stoping by my blog.

The butterflies were done in a blue Pearlescent paper with white top layers. The white layers were run thru the cuddle bug and swiss dots. That part came out as planned. BUT!!!! the antennas were another story.
These were made from the Sentimentals cart. Cut at 3,2 and 1 1/2.

this card was done with Strech Your Imagination cart. I saw this card on the Sizzix site. If there is any interest I will do a video.  I used my G and some old packaging for the jar. Let me know if you want to see how I did it

This card was done from a cut on the Sweethearts cart. I think it makes a great wedding card. The card stock was already embossed when I bought the paper. I added a pearl bling to the heart. I used MS glitter and ribbon I had in my stock pile.
