Accordion Card

Hello Card Markers!!!
Today I am so excited to show you a card I figured out how to make. I saw a new release video from CHA 2012 from Sizzix. Karen Burniston has a new exciting die coming out in the fall. I couldn't wait for the release of that die nor was it in my budget. So I took a die I already owned and made a card very close to her accordion album. Her die looks absolutely wonderful. It would make a great photo album. It will also make a great card. Take a look at my video and see how easy this card is the make.
Watch my video and see how easy this card is to put together with a die you already own.

Check out the original video of Karen's release on YOUTUBE please go here

Paris Window Art

Hello Everyone!! I hope you are enjoying your weekend as I am. I started out as I do every Saturday, plans to  my craft room. So of 1:30 pm no cleaning has been done but Art was enjoyed!!

A couple weeks ago I found an old window in someones trash. The window wasn't broken and had lots of patina. So I took it home with me. I sanded off the loose paint. Cleaned the window of its dirt. BUT I left all the over spray paint and messy caulking. This to me gave it character.

I knew I wanted to add this window to my Paris themed bedroom. So I got out my Cricut and my Summer in Paris cartridge and started cutting. This was the first time I have used my 12x24  mat. I know it wont be my last. I so enjoyed working with this size cut out. I used some black and some white Contact paper. Below you will see the pictures of the cuts I made.

At first I was going to do the tower and the PARIS all in black. But once I got it together you couldn't really see the R in Paris. So I decided to cut around the R to make it stand out more. That wasn't to my liking either. So I decided to make the tower in White with black letters.
Here is my process:
I first cut the tower in Black. This is the black out feature. It cut 23 inch on portrait mood. I had planned to add the letters to this size tower
Then I cut the tower with the Paris. The largest it would was 10 inches. I liked the size of the letters but not the tower. So I cut the letters off the tower to add to my much larger 23 inch tower.
Once I placed the letters over the large tower I realized the black on black  wasn't going to work.
So I cut around the tower to help the "R" stand out more. I didn't like that either.
I then decided to cut the tower out in white contact paper. Then add my letters

It really fits well into my room. I hope you enjoy this post and make an art project for yourself.

Mono chronic Thank you Card

Hello Card Makers. Welcome to my ramblings all about card making. If you came over from the Card A Day blog . Where I am the designer there today THANK YOU!!!! If you haven't been to the CAD blog please stop by. We have a new card posted everyday.... 365 days a year!!!. Always a great place to get some inspiration. There are many wonderful blogs represented there. Be sure and check them out!
Cardaday@blogspot.com

I'm sure you have figured out how I made this very simple Thank you card. I used 3 different pattern papers all in the same yellow tone to get my mono chronic color scheme. The paper came from a 121x12 stack  called Lemon Flower. I got mine at Joanns. Along with a window die. At the end of this post, I posted two more cards I made with this same die in different color combos.

Here is the window die. It cut all 3 of my panels.
I do not have the name on this die. It came with a set of a bunch of off brand dies. I got them on ebay last year. There are many good die companies with window dies. For a card marker this is one of the staples to have in your collection of dies, However if you don't have one you can make the window openings yourself very easily.
Evenly space the rectangles across the front of your card and cut them out with a exacto knife.

Easy Peasy!!! You got to love that.
The butterfly is Martha Stewart's punch. One of my favorites.

I made a few of these cards in different colors.

I hope you make a few of these for yourself. I had a blast making them. Thank you for coming by my blog.

Easel Card and 20 cards later

Hello Everyone. Thank you for coming by my blog today. I had the day off today and few hours to kill. So I spent them working in my craft room. I was able to get caught up on my card making. I was behind on my.... miss you, thinking of you, praying for you and birthday cards. I am happy to say I am now caught up! woohooo I was able to turn out 20 cards today. Some are multiples and some were single cards.

This is an easel card I made today for my cousin. The color looks brown here in the pic  but it really is a beautiful green and blue.
I used a new spellbinders die called  Fleur De Lis rectangles

Here are a few more cards I made today.
I used a Spellbinders heart die. I love the colors. This card is for someone I love very much. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
This is from my cricut. A cut from Inspired heart
I used the spellbinders die  set again. I haven't added the sentiment yet. Its hard to tell in the pic but the pattern paper is lovely. Its a K and co. The pattern is of a magnolia flower.
Bright and cheerful thinking of you card. I used another Spellbinder die set.

Thanks again for coming by,

Baby (Fuse) Card

This is the first card I made using my new Fuse and one of the die's that came with it. I thought this die cut could make a great card to put with a handmade present. Such as a baby blanket.
This card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square with rounded bottom corners. The bear die cut and the paper came included with a card magazine I picked up at Joann's a few weeks ago.
I've made a hand full of cards from the dies that came with the Fuse. I will be posting them this weekend. I like them all but Im ready for some toys to play with. My only complaint is the limited shapes. I hope that they place more selections on the market soon. The last pic I posted is of the letterpress die cut.
I hope your having a great weekend. I have a very rare weekend off. I plan to spend it in my craft room and a movie.

Card and Luminary
Inside of card and another side of Luminary
Luminary made with Spellbinder die
I have made a video explaining how to make the Luminary with your Cricut and Wild Card Cart. I also made a Luminary using the Label Ten Oval die from Spellbinders. They are simple in construction and so fun and easy to make. I think they would  also make great center pieces for a bridal shower or baby shower. I hope to make a few for some of my girlfreinds.

If you have any questions please drop me an email ( sugarlite02@aol.com) Be sure and stop by the Spellbinders blog and see her beautiful orginal Lumionary.
Thanks for stopping by.
