Happy Birthday to my Mother

Today is my Moms birthday. Mine was yesterday, When I was a little girl I wanted so badly to have been born one day later. We always celebrate our birthdays together.  As a child I loved it.

Happy Birthday Mom, I love you!

I used a new Spellbinder's die and a fuse letterpress and die. The Spellbinders is called Marvelous Squares, this is a brand new die just released. I pre-ordered mine in June and just received  them this this past week, They are wonderful.

I couldn't wait to get them,  so  I made a video awhile back using some Cricut cuts to mock  up a card I saw on YouTube, where a lady was using these dies. Here is my video http://ramblingsofatexascraftroom.blogspot.com/2012/06/interlocking-gatefold-card.html
Its called an interlocking gate fold card. In the video I give you a  link to the original card, using the same Spellbinderrs die set I made this card with.

On the inside I made a Pop up using a letterpress and die cut from my new Fuse. I cut and letter pressed some thin  felt. I stamped Happy Birthday after I had it embossed and cut. The fuse machine works great for this. I did back the felt with  card stock before i cut it out, to give it some strength.  I also used a MS butterfly punch.

I love how it turned out. I mailed it to my Mom  this week. She loved it too

Kids Halloween Birthday Card

Hello Card Markers!
So happy your here to check out this card. If you came over from the CAD blog... Thank you!!! If you haven't check out that blog.. please do so.. We have a different card 365 days a year. Today, I am the designer on that blog. I have posted pics of the Kids Halloween Birthday card I made.
www.cardaday.blogspot.com

I saw the cutest shirt at Walmart that had a ghost and the words BOO-YA written on it. I just knew that would make a great card front but wasn't sure how I would use it. So I  challenged myself to make a card for a kid who's birthday was on Halloween. Here is what I  made.
The card is very simple. I didnt even cut a mat for the front. The letters were cut from Plantin School at 1.25 inches. The ghost on the front was cut from Dress up Paper Dolls at 3 inches. I liked the way the black and white cardstock worked together. I did ink around the ghost with dark grey ink.

You could pop the ghost up with pop dots or use a wobble. I would have used a wobble if I had one. I hear they are easy to make. Maybe i'll give it a try if I make another one.
The ghost on the inside of the card were cut at 2 inches. I used a small alphabet stamp set from Walmart for .99 cents to make my banners. I just stamped out my sentiment and hand cut the banner. I then strung up the string and glued the banner to it,
I hand cut some V's to resemble bats. I glued them to the ends of the string.

Thats it!! so simple but adorable. I love cards like that.

Bible Card Video

Good Morning Card Makers!
So glad you stopped by my blog today. I have a video for you today showing you how to put together this bible card.  I used a couple Spellbinder dies and a couple of stamps.

This type card can be used for lots of occasions. Here, it is used as a sympathy card. I can see it being used for a scrapbooker friend card, first day of school or college grad card. Let me know what you come up with.

This is not my original  idea.  I got the idea from a very talented lady on YouTube. Her video is  here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBEkXdT7Hx4&list=FLre6iweHPZPIiJVmaMYkOKw&index=1&feature=plpp_video. I plan to make several of her wonderful cards. You will love her cards too. Her youtube channel is called Vadeler.
Here's my video but be sure and check hers out too!

Autumn Birthday Card

Hello Card Markers!!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.
If you came over from the CAD blog ( cardaday.blogspot.com) where I am the designer today, Thank you so much!!!!

I'm so thrilled you took time out to come to my blog and see how I made this adorable Autumn Birthday Card. My birthday is in the fall, I'm a September baby. So I love fall colors on a  birthday card.
I found this OVER THE HILL cartridge from Cricut at JoANN.COM for just $11.99. I got a few carts from Joann's at that price last week. I love a great deal. Here in the picture it shows a belly band you can cut for the card. Since I was adding some 3D flowers I opted to omit the band. I used some brown ribbon from my stash instead.
I used 3 punches to make my foliage and flowers.
I cut the card and the gate front at 6 inches
The 4 U was not cut from this cartridge. I was disappointed to not have any fonts on this cart. I cut the 4 U from the StoryBook Cart at 2 inches.
The Happy Birthday was cut at 3 inches from OVER THE HILL cart. The top  inside iron piece is  automatically cut with the 2 front gate pieces.
There are many thing's I liked about this new cartridge. The only thing I didn't like was the absence of a font. There are several projects from this cart that look very complicated to put together. As always Cricut doesn't give the best instructions. However for 12 bucks plus shipping I was willing to take my chances, that I could get them put together.

If you have any questions on this project or anything on my blog. Please drop me an email  at  Sugarlite02@aol.com

If you haven't done so, Id like to ask you to join/follow my blog. I would love to have 150 followers on my blog before the end of the year. This summer I was turned done from design team because my blog didn't have enough followers. So I am trying to grow my blog and try again next year for some designs teams.
Thanks again for coming by.

My Guest Room

Today I have some pics of the guest room I just finished putting together. I found a great head board at an antique shop and fell in love with it. It is very simple and inexpensive headboard. Most likely from the 40's but I'm not sure. I then found the small dresser and I knew I had the makings of a great room.

The room is very simply furnished.  I liked that the room has a serene feel to it. I took the  direction for the color from the wall color. The room was already blue when I moved in. This guess room is a small room 12x13. Inside this small room is 4 doors along 2 walls. I also have 2 very large windows.
To many doors in one small room. One bath, 2 closets and a hall door.

The doors are white. Not wanting to repaint I went with the blue and white.  I choose a blue and white floral curtain fabric and made some great curtains. However once I had the lace up,  the curtains seemed to busy. So I choose to leave them out. I think the lace gives the room a homey feeling.

I added the dark wood furniture and touches of red. I love how it turned out. I hope you do too. I have had two guest stay over since I finished the room. Both say the room is  elegant and  very serene.

On the table tops I tried to use things that give the room a 1940's feel

I am still  working on this old chair. I have sanded it down and stained it red. The fabric I have thrown over the chair is the fabric I will be making the cushions out of. It is also the same fabric I made curtains in but have decided not to use. I have great hard wood floors. So that adds to the homey warm feel of the room.

The quilt I already had. It was a perfect match to the blue walls. I love the white sheets.
