Dress form from Michaels

We named her Grace

I am posting a pic of the dress form I got at Michael's and then decorated. I choose colors that would go in my craft room. My craft room now is Cricut green and white. When I move  I plan to add black to the mix. I covered the dressform in glittery paper from the Lemon Flower Stack after I painted it black. I just love all the papers in that stack. I used a green satin ribbon and a green button from my stash. I used my MS butterfly punch with green Glitter paper and a charm. I made a pearl stick pin that I stuck in the bow. I hot glued an acrylic knob to the top. I added a small magnet to hold a note right below the body at the leg.
If you want one of your own.  You can find her in the child's section of the wood crafts at Michael's. She is unfinished wood and is officially called a jewelry stand. She cost $3.99. She stands about 13 inches tall and about 3 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick.

Now my grand daughter is trying to come up with a name for her!

A Napkin and A Tissue card

Friday has finally arrived. I hope you have some wonderful plans for the weekend. My daughter and granddaughter only have a few days left to visit. We have some fun things planed next week before they head out.
I have been working on some cards. Here are the two cards, one is with a napkin and the other is with tissue paper.

The " Thinking of you" card is made from a napkin. I picked up this napkin because I loved the the colors of the napkin and the scene. I ironed the napkin onto card stock then cut around the flowers. I doubled layered the background and added a ribbon. So easy!!! It is a 5x5 card.

I found the most beautiful 1920 inspired tissue paper. The black and cream color scheme  just screamed anniversary card. So I made a 5x7 anniversary card. I used the cut shape that I used in the flower card on my last post. This time tho I used the other side that I cut off on the inside.
I took organza ribbon removed the wire and wet it. I then scrunched it up and let it dry. I then ironed it flat. This gave my ribbon that seam binding vintage look. It was prefect for the look I was going for with this card.

Enjoy your weekend!
Happy Crafting and thanks for stopping by my blog. It is much appreciated.

Happy Birthday Cards

Number and letters cut from storybook

I cut the shape with my  knife. Then ran it through the cuddle bug. The flowers hold the card shut.

Once opened the shape is also on the inside.
Thursday has come and is just about gone. I worked on a few very simple cards this afternoon. Its just to hot to do anything outside. It was 102 today and it felt every degree of it. So my grandaughter and I are both stuck in small craft room together! We had rain a few days ago but my yard is still parched. The cards I have completed are both birthday cards. One female and one male inspired. Both were done with the Happy Birthday cuddle bug embossing folder. The flowers were cut at 1 1/2 from the George cart. The yarn I used was Peaches and Cream twisted yarn. I wanted a bakers twine look. This is the closest I could find. Its available at Walmart for less than $2. I got it in the red and cream and one in green and cream.

2 cards with a 3D basket stamp

Flowers were cut at 1 1/5 and 3/4. I inked around then. Glued them togther and added a half pearl. This is an A2 card

The basket is from Limited Edition Rubber Stamp Company.
It is dated 2005. Im not sure you can even still find this stamp.

I cut about 1/2 inch off the bottom of the basket to make it a flat basket for my puppy! He was cut at 3 inches. I cut all the layers in a dark brown (ran that thru the cuddle bug) and the main body in a light brown. I added google eyes and a half pearl for his nose. I cut off the heart he had in his mouth. I used K and Co and Kraft card stock. This is a 5x7 card.

So Glad to day is Wednesday. Hurry and come along Sunday. Im ready for my day off! But until then I have been busy on some cards. I have about 3 others in different stages of completion.

Here are the cards I have been working on with a new stamp. I bought the basket stamp in a bargain bin. I love this stamp. It makes a great 3D Basket. Here I filled the basket with flowers I made from the George cartridge. Then I filled it with the cutest little dog from 4 Legged Friends Lite cart from Walmart. I see so many uses for this 4 x 3 1/2 inch  basket .

10 Minute Napkin Card cut from Wild Card Cartridge

This morning I posted the wrong pictures of this card. I had made a mock up then I made this card. I posted the mock up by mistake.

Depending on how you fold your card the square can be on the bottom or the top

I  used some coloring pencils to color in the leaves

I have been working on a few more napkins cards. I loved this napkin with some lovely birds on it. These two cards are made from the same napkin. I got the napkin from Lisa. Thanks Lisa. I used the wild card cartridge to cut the card and the trim around the opening. All I did was turn over the cut to make the square be on the bottom. This is a extremely easy card to make. It is a good design for a man card. Its decorative without being filly. I am adding a bunch of napkins to my online store for sale. Its taking a lot of time to photograph them and get them posted. I hope to get the rest up by Sunday. By Sunday (my day off) I will have worked 10 days straight. Playing catch up after being off a few days is never fun!

New Batch of cards... Grad and Fathers Day Cards are finished!!!

Now that graduation is finally over and all the Father Day cards have been handed out. We can start on a new batch of cards. Here is the new batch that I have been working on. There's an all about me card, one I did using my E2 and one I did with vellum.

The embellishments are from K and Co and so is the pattern card stock. And YES I really do have a flashlight collection. Double click the pic to see an enlarged card. I placed a small card above the sentiment " I love to make card's"

This is how it looks closed up. It is a 4 1/2 by 5 card. All the sentiments were printed on my computer.

I am sad to say this is the only card I have made with my new E2. Ive just about figured out how to use the new E2 but I just love my old E. My craft room is too small for both to be out. So until I get moved the new E2 is dormant.

I love this heart and the vellum technique behind it. The paper is K and Co. Can you tell that's my favorite paper line?

A little of my life and a little project

I am home from my trip. I had a wonderful time. My daughter and my grand daughter came back home with me. Once I returned I found all was well at home. Looks as if I wasn't even missed. The dogs got feed and as the pic shows the cat got patted. And isn't that all that really matters?

Here are some pics from my trip and a project that I had completed. I made a sign with mock scrabble letters on it. I found the letters on a 12 x 12 sheet of scrap book paper. I cut them apart and spelled out my blog name. I still want a real scrabble letter sign but this will do until I get one made.

Congrats!!!! Neketa

My beautiful grand daughter Kimmy and her very tired Maw-Maw T

Its hard to say goodbye to dear old friends
and its really hard to take a pic with one hand!
Here is the project I completed:

Helloooo
Its Friday hipp hipp horray. Just a few more days and I will be off on a few days vacation to Lafayette La. I will be visiting my daughter and her family.Im especially  excited to see my grand daughter. She has been missing me as much as I have been missing her. While in La I will be doing a few things beside visiting my grandaugher. My daughter has a graduation that I will be attending. I am so proud of her. She got side tracked due to life plans for her. She is now back on track and we are excited for her. I will also while  in La be visiting with a dear old friend from New Orleans. He will be driving up to Lafayette and we plan to have lunch. On those occasions I have made 3 cards. One is a grad card for my daughter, the other a reminder card to my friend and the 3 was to my daughters mother in law for all her kind direction, love and support of my daughter the past year.

Id like to give a big shout out to my son Jason. He so kindly came from Austin to stay with my dogs while I'm away.

My Card Swap Cards for June

Here is the pics of the two cards I did for our card swap due June 18th. I used my MS butterfly punch on both cards. I guess I have wedding on the brain. Both cards are wedding cards. I did a video on how I made the first card but not the second one. The second card I cut using my gypsy. I put down 3 rectangles on the screen/matt and cut the rectangles that way. I used that card as an over lay to a pattern paper card on the inside. It turned out very nice.

                                                Here is the second one
Here is the close up of the butterfly's. I glued butterfly's to both sides of the rectangle cut outs. I added some pearls to the outside butterfly's.Then I used that card to over lay another smaller card in a wedding patterned paper .

I hope that all makes sense. If you have any questions  please let me know.I'm heading out of town Monday. I have plans to see my granddaughter, attend my daughters graduation and then meet up with an old friend. I have 3 more cards done that I plan to post this weekend. One is my daughters grad card, the other a thank you card and the last one is to an old dear friend. I have a sign project I hope to get done before I leave. If I do I will post that too. I will be gone most of the week. So very little crafting will be done next week. It will be good to see so many people that I love so much. My daughter and grandaughter will be coming back home with me for a 2 week visit! Im super excited about that. I hope Kimmy and I get some crafting down together while she is here.
Happy crafting and God bless.

Good News!!! Smiles all around

Today has been a extra wonderful day for me here in Texas. I was notified today that I will have 3 cards published in the Sept/ Oct 2011 issue of THE BUG MAGAZINE. I am beyond thrilled. I will have one card in the fall section, one in the anniversary section and one in the Grandparents section of the magazine. I have also been published in their July/ August issue with 2 cards. I am waiting anxiously for that issue to come out. I will post on my blog  all the pictures of my cards when I can. I have to wait until the magazine is out to show the pic's on my blog.

Smiles all around!!
I took this picture of the clay pot man that has sat in front of my house for many many years now. We call him Ollie. I made Ollie originally many years ago out of clay pots. Over the years I have moved and he has gotten broken. A few years ago a friend help me restring him with plastic pots. He has sat in my garden protecting my flowers for a very long time. My sunflowers are coming in and he looks so happy sitting among them.

I once moved only a few blocks from my old house. The day after I move my mail showed up in my mail box at the new house, even tho I hadn't told the post office I had moved yet. The next day I saw the postwoman and I asked her how she knew I had moved only a few blocks away. I assumed she was going to say she noticed my car. Now I drive a very distinctive car. I drive a red VW beetle with 6 inch black dots all over it. It is a giant LadyBug. I live in a small town and everyone knows that car. She shocked me by saying ,no it wasn't the car she noticed, it was my clay pot man. She loved seeing him everyday in my garden. She was sad to see him gone one day. Then that very afternoon she saw him in the new garden. He makes everyone who sees him smile.

I hope everyone has something in their life that just makes them smile. I'm thankful I do!

Happy crafting and God Bless you.

I loved all of her cards and I think you will too. So please go over and check out her blog and wonderful beautiful cards. I hope you enjoy my ramblings about this card on this video. The dogs bark, I lose my train of thought and of course the clock is always clicking. That makes me very nervous. Between the three I can never turn out a video the way Id like it to be. Oh well, this is just for fun. So I hope you enjoy this video and like the card i made. Let me know if you make one too.

Thanks for watching Terri

Simple Pencil!! YEAH right!

Monday has arrived. Back to the normal grind. I have been working on my simple pencil idea. It turns out not to be so simple after all. Oh maybe it would be if I had an ounce of talent in this department. It is clear I do not. I think I will need to enlist some help via a class or two to get me started. Otherwise I will just learn some very bad habits. That I will in turn spend lots of money and time to unlearn! This is not going to come to me naturally.

With that said here is the card I made this week. It is a beautiful stamp my Penny Black. I just love her stamps. Her images are lovely and easy to color. Well easier than some I've tried. I think because she has some built in texture to her animals. The texture makes it easier to make the colors look blended.

I have not given up. I have expensive pencils so therefore I will continue on!! I hope that I have not spend a lot of money on pencils to only color in flowers! I plan to check Joann's and Michael's today to see if they offer any classes on Color Pencil shading.

Happy Crafting to you and God Bless

Father Day Cards--Finally Im done!

Happy Saturday!!
I'm am happy today only because it is no longer Friday where I had a root canal. I am up and feeling better today. So I thought I would take some pics of the Father Day cards I been making. I made a total of 8 different cards with 13 total cards. I will deliver them to my church bookstore Sunday. They sold all the Mother Day cards so I hope they will sell all of these too. The only one that wont be going will be the dog card. That was a special order from a dear friend for his father for FD. My dad passed many years ago. This time of year is always a bit sad. The "Mr Fix it" cards are ones I would have made for my dad.

Under each pic I will try and tell you what supplies and carts I used. If you have any questions, let me know. The golf and gambling cards were made from napkins .

Happy Crafting and God Bless

Made with sentimental cart for the chair cut at 6 inches. This is a 5x7 card. Dog is cut at 3 inches from Four Legged Freinds cart. Stamped sentiment. I used pop dots to pop the dog. I used the cuddle bug and swiss dot folder. To give him some texture since he is an all white dog.

I have had the PP for ages. The tools are embossed. Very pretty paper. The DAD was cut using Mini mongrams cart at 2 inches. Sentiment was printed on my computer.

I used a napkin I received in the napkin swap. This card is 4x7. I printed the sentiment on my computer.

I printed this on my computer. The flower at the bottom and the corners on the front are K and co.
These are a set of 3- $1.00 stamps from Joanns. The hats, the mushaches and the Happy Fathers Day. Not a bad set for $3.00

This was  made from a napkin. The sentiment was cut from Wild Card at real dial size 3 inches

I used the Sentimentals cart. The hand was cut at 3 inches with the real size dial. I used small pop dots to hold the fingers down. I saw this done on Youtube with shinky dinks. Here I just used card stock. I used a Fathers Day stamp to add to the back ground.

This is from a stamp set I bought at Michaels. The inside is printed from my computer  "thanks Dad for loaning me your wings and helping me find mine"

This is another great $1.00 stamp  collection from Joanns. There are 5 stamp sets here. Still not a bad card from a $5 stamp set. I stamped directly on to card stock.
